As we worked hard to cope with a new bureaucratic infrastructure and revise plans for the restoration, local villagers and other groups came to the immediate assistance of the nuns. Repairs were made on several buildings, giving the nuns shelter and housing and saving the priceless artwork in the old prayer hall from total destruction.
