Under the capable leadership of Mingma Tenzing Sherpa, preparations are underway to begin construction of the nun's community building this spring. We are working with a local engineering firm to finalize plans and ensure that the building will be affordable and able to withstand future seismic events. We'll continue to post updates as they happen.
Shown below, the new building will provide space for meal prep and dining, housing for a few nuns, and teaching/meditation as well as flex space.
The drawing below shows where the new community building will be sited. It also depicts proposed locations for several small satellite residences, to be built in the future.
